The sociological imagination

Is Harvard Business School Professor D. Quinn Mills related to the late radical Columbia University sociologist C. Wright Mills? I doubt it, but the interesting Standard column about D. Quinn Mills’s novel about the prospective war between the states brought the late sociologist to mind: “The red and the blue.”

For a novel with a different (more libertarian, and definitely more palatable for a conservative readership) take on the issue you might want to check out The Third Revolution, by Anthony F. Lewis (that would be me).
