House Rejects Democrats’ Pullout Plan

The House of Representatives voted this morning, 256-153 in favor of the Republican-sponsored resolution that, among other things, rejected the concept of an arbitrary withdrawal date. Forty-two Democrats broke ranks and voted with the Republicans in favor of the resolution. I haven’t seen the roll call yet, but will link to it when I do.

UPDATE: The roll call is available here. Thanks to all those who sent in links.

On Wednesday, Democrat Gregory Meeks of New York was quoted in Congressional Quarterly said that Democrats would “vote the way they have to vote politically, but articulate our commonality.” It’s nice to know that on matters of life and death, Democrats are “voting the way they have to vote politically.”
