We’ve run thirteen installments of our “Who is Keith Ellison?” series on the endorsed Democratic congressional candidate for Minnesota’s Fifth District (mostly covering Minneapolis). The Minneapolis Star Tribune hasn’t yet stirred itself to take a look at Ellison’s troubling public record. Under names including Keith Hakim, Keith X Ellison, and Keith Ellison-Muhammad, Ellison’s public record includes, among other things, a leadership role in the Nation of Islam, support for an attack on Minneapolis Jews as “the most racist white people,” repeated attacks on law enforcement authorities, association with convicted murderer and Minneapolis gang leader Sharif Willis, support of Symbionese Liberation Army terrorist Kathleen Soliah/Sara Jane Olson, and concern for the continuing freedom of escaped cop-killer Assata Shakur, now holed up in Havana and designated one of America’s most wanted domestic terrorists by the FBI. On the other hand, tomorrow’s Star Tribune does get around to an important subject and gives it a 1,400-word story: “Sex toys for women go mainstream.” Maybe they’ll get around to Ellison later next week.
