Up for the cup — a plea

The World Cup starts today at noon Eastern Standard Time. To the extent I’ll be able to watch the early stages, it will be on tape rather than live. So I’m asking readers not to email me with comments about matches until the day after they are played. By the same token, if I blog about a just-completed match, I’ll try to put a warning in the headline, so the reader who doesn’t know the outcome (plus that rare reader who doesn’t care) can skip the piece.
