A word from Sean McCormack

State Department spokesman Sean McCormack writes to respond to my post “The road map to Tehran.” Mr. McCormack writes:

Scott — I just read your post on Philip [Zelikow]’s Friday remarks. Let me assure you and your readers that there is no/no change in policy. The issues of Iran and Israeli-Palestinian interaction each have their own dynamic, and we are not making a new linkage between the two issues. Nothing in Philip’s remarks should be interpreted as laying out or even hinting at a change in policy.

Sean McCormack
Spokesman, US Department of State
