To no one’s surprise, Air America filed for bankruptcy protection today. The filing was under Chapter 11, so the left-wing network will stay on the air, at least for now.
I can’t deny taking a certain satisfaction in Air America’s inability to pay its way, but the filing may not have a lot of significance in the long run; one thing the left will never run short of is money. So Air America, or something like it, will probably be around for a while. But the network’s inability to generate revenue shows how little impact it is having.
On a more parochial note, this could give rise to a new slogan for the Northern Alliance Radio Network: At least we’re not bankrupt!
