Chimes of freedom

I ask you to consider helping put us over the top in our goal of raising $180,000 by Veterans’ Day for Valour-IT. It provides voice-activated laptops to assist injured soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines with face and hand injuries so that they can stay connected with the world during recovery. So far, the project has delivered 650 computers to soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines in Bethesda, Walter Reed, Balboa, and several other military hospitals, and there is demand for many more.
The fundraising is proceeding by a competition among Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Air Force bloggers, with each team trying to raise $45,000. The Navy team was behind when we signed on to help it out and is now doing well, thanks in part to the incredible generosity of the Internet’s most generous readers (you know who you are). Putting our friendly competition to one side, I ask you to consider pitching in to help the project reach its overall fundraising goal. In addition to contributing via Paypal, contributions can also be sent by check to:

Earlier this week we heard from Commander Brian Hoskins at Pearl Harbor: “Thank you so much for posting the Valour-IT info. As you can see, it’s been the boost Navy needs. Mahalo Nui Loa!” I think it’s a message that applies to the needs of all four branches.
