Department of Euphemism Abatement

Our blog of the foreseeable future — Armavirumque — has posted Roger Kimball’s modest proposal in honor of the French presidential election today. Also in honor of the election today, Commentary has posted its May issue’s lead article by Michel Gurfinkiel on whether France can be saved. Gurfienkel’s analysis will in part be familiar to readers of Mark Steyn’s book, but he goes well beyond demographics to support his pessimistic answer to the question posed in the title of the essay.
