MoveOn Barks

Last June, we noted Peggy Noonan’s observation that, while both political parties have problems with their bases, the Democrats “think, deep down, that their base is barking mad.” More evidence from today’s Hill:

MoveOn.org, the Web-based, liberal grassroots group, is going after two Democratic leaders for failing to support an accelerated troop withdrawal from Iraq.
The group is targeting House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) and Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman Carl Levin (D-Mich.) in ads that will run in their home states through May 21.

We noted the Senate vote on Russ Feingold’s pullout plan yesterday; Levin was one of 67 Senators who, in effect, voted against it.
