Letters to the editor

One feature of Commentary of which the magazine is especially proud is its correspondence columns. Month in and month out its coorespondence columns offer conversation, debate, controversy, wit, and polemics the likes of which are not to be found in any other publication. The July-August section is an especially good and lively one, with voluminous correspondence on Charles Murray’s article on Jewish IQ, a sharp debate between Steven Pinker and Leon Kass about science and its limits, and a strong defense of the Iraq surge by Arthur Herman.
In case you missed the articles the first time around, here is Murray on “Jewish genius,” here is Kass on “Science, religion and the human future,” and here is Herman on “How to win in Iraq — and how to lose,” all from the April issue.
