A New Hampshire holiday

Little is as important to a Frenchman as his vacation. Thus, when French President Nicolas Sarkozy decided to take his vacation in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, he put his “money” where his pro-American mouth is.
Wolfeboro is a resort located alongside Lake Winnipesaukee. Its name honors General James Wolfe who, at the time of the town’s founding, had recently defeated the French at Quebec City. Wolfe’s famous victory (which cost him his life) led to the end of French rule in North America outside of Louisiana and two very small islands. Sarkozy apparently does not hold this against the town, though.
I understand that Mitt Romney is a summer resident of Wolfeboro, though presumably not this year.
