As I said yesterday, I didn’t watch the Republican debate in Iowa yesterday, but from what I’ve read, most of the contenders did well. I’ve heard a number of clips, but the best, I think, is Rudy Giuliani responding to an aggressive question from a liberal Des Moines columnist who suggested that the Republicans’ “dogma” against raising taxes was making it impossible to repair bridges. Seriously. Rudy’s response was excellent; if you haven’t seen it–or even if you have–the Giuliani campaign has posted the first part of Rudy’s answer (there was actually more, which was also terrific) in the Candidates’ Forum, here.
