History has been made

Barry Bonds has just hit career home run number 756, breaking Hank Aaron’s record. The home run came off my favorite Washingrton Nationals pitcher, journeyman Mike Bacsik. His father, also named Mike, pitched to Aaron as a member of the Texas Rangers staff in the mid-1970s, but apparently did not contribute to Aaron’s home run count.
This is a great accomplishment by a great player, but not one that excites me very much for the reasons I gave earlier today. In keeping with the modern fashion, it looks like the actual game is going to be delayed for a while, so I think I’ll call it a night.
