Lindsey Graham’s re-election campaign touts Graham as “representing South Carolina conservative values.” This South Carolina blogger (“Fed Up in SC”) disagrees with that claim. And his list of grievances doesn’t even include blocking Jim Haynes’ nomination to the Fourth Circuit. Graham’s conduct not only deprived the Fourth Circuit of a good man, a good lawyer, and a good conservative, it contributed to that Court’s recent swing to the left. With several conservative judges having retired and not replaced, the number of Democratic appointees now equals that of Republican appointees.
I don’t deny that Graham is a conservative. But the state that gives us Jim DeMint could reasonably be expected produce a more conservative senior Senator than Lindsey Graham.
