If you haven’t already seen it, check out John McCain’s new ad, “Man In the Arena.” It is superbly done, I think. The production values are first-rate, the music is perfect, the themes are powerful–and, like all the best advertising, it has the added merit of being true:
McCain has, in fact, been in the arena all his life, in one way or another. In his years in the Senate, he has never shied away from a fight and never feared to take a position or to exert leadership. This ad is a preview of the sharp contrasts McCain’s campaign will be able to draw between him and his Democratic rival, whoever it turns out to be.
