With the bloom largely off of the Obama rose, but with Clinton’s already-high level of unpopularity on the increase after her Bosnia fable, we’re hearing talk about the Democrats turning to Al Gore. In this scenario, the Dems, faced with the prospect of alienating one their core constituencies — Afrrican-Americans or feminists — opt to alienate both. Stranger things probably have happened in modern politics, but I can’t think of any.
