Does Obama know what he’s talking about? (NYPost remix)

This past Thursday RealClearPolitics picked up my post “Does Obama know what he’s talking about?” for its afternoon update. An hour or two after the post showed up on RCP I got a call from New York Post op-ed editor Mark Cunningham asking if I would turn the post into a column. This morning the Post runs my column under the heading “Anti-terror oops” together with a photographic close-up of the blind sheik, who makes a cameo appearance in the column. Thanks to Mark Cunningham and Eve Kessler for their care with the piece, and to NRO for including it in its Web briefing this morning.

The column in part addresses Obama’s comments on the Supreme Court’s Boumediene decision. Obama’s comments show that, although he has gone far on charm and the force of his personality, he doesn’t know what he’s talking about. By contrast with Obama with respect to Boumediene, Army Major Kyndra Rotunda knows what she’s talking about. She has served as a legal adviser in Guantanamo and a prosecutor at the Office of Military Commissions. She discusses her experience in Honor Bound: Inside the Guantanamo Trials. In Friday’s Chicago Tribune Major Rotunda commented on Boumediene in “Supreme Court ruling puts soldiers at great risk.”

JOHN adds: Fred Thompson also comments on Boumediene at Pajamas Media this morning.
