Got milk?

Israel Today reports that the gentlemen of Hamas who control the Gaza Strip have distributed a set of carefully-staged photographs demonstrating that smuggling tunnels running under the Gaza-Egypt border are for milk and other essential goods, not weapons. The photographs (included with the story) show masked Hamas men lifting jugs of milk and sacks of baby food from the entrance to one of the tunnels on the Gaza side of the border.

As I tried to show in “He didn’t give at the office,” Hamas has good reason to believe that news outlets covering the Gaza Strip are willing dupes in their cause. Time Magazine’s “candlelight by daylight” photograph of the hardships purportedly imposed on the Gaza Strip by the nefarious Israelis suggests that there is no limit to the media’s credulity. This latest Hamas public relations venture certainly tests the proposition.
