This video shows the rescue of Ingrid Betancourt and the other FARC hostages in Colombia. It’s interesting; you can see the hostages’ reactions when they realize they are being rescued. There is a fair amount of dialogue in Spanish, which I can’t understand.
It’s now being claimed that the FARC terrorists were bought, not fooled, and that a ransom was paid for the release of the hostages. I’m not aware of any evidence for this claim, and it is hotly denied by Colombia’s government, which, by all indications, has FARC reeling.
