UDPATE: Proving that I should quit trying to write from memory, a reader corrects my attribution of credit. She points out that the assist derives, not from Monty Python’s “The Life of Brian,” but rather from Zefferelli’s “Jesus of Nazareth” — despite the fact that “Obama’s performance is strictly Python.” The video, she explains, demonstrates “how to defend yourself against a man armed with baloney…”
