Al Qaeda Propaganda Chief Dead

In another major blow against the reeling terrorist organization, U.S. forces killed Abu Jihad al-Masri with a missile strike in Pakistan last night. Al-Masri was riding in a car with two confederates. Al-Masri, described as al Qaeda’s top propagandist and ideologist, had a $1 million bounty on his head. Al-Masri, an Egyptian, was believed to operate out of Iran until he moved to Pakistan in 2005 or 2006.

Is it just my imagination, or has the pace of attacks against al Qaeda stepped up in recent weeks? One wonders whether the Bush administration, fearing that a wind-down of our effort against Islamic terrorist groups will begin in January, is pulling out the stops to do all possible damage to terrorists before it leaves office.
