West Ham United thoroughly dominated Everton for more than 80 minutes at Upton Park in the East End of London today. Fortunately, the Hammers dominance had translated into only one goal. Then, in a five minute stretch, Everton produced three goals to grab the match 3-1.
Former Manchester United and French national team reserve Louis Saha was the hero. After being starved for service throughout the match, and doing nothing with the little service he received, Saha suddenly produced a fine assist on the first goal, a header by Joleon Lescott in the 82nd minute, and scored two of own in the 85th and 87th minute.
This is Everton’s third consecutive win. During this span, we have scored five goals, all in the final ten minutes. Our opponents have all been mediocre sides and we haven’t really outplayed them, although in fairness, two of the victories have come on the road where it’s seldom easy..
Basically, we’re playing like candidates for relegation but the table says we’re candidates for Europe.
