Tom Friedman, RIP

I’ve always thought that Tom Friedman is grotesquely overrated, probably because most people who read him also read fellow NY Times columnists Frank Rich, Paul Krugman and Maureen Dowd, and Friedman seems coherent by comparison. Still, Friedman deserves a considerable amount of ridicule, which Matt Taibbi–a lefty who also has no idea what he’s talking about–administers freely. The entertainment value is considerable. Besides, anyone capable of creating a graph (mocking one of Friedman’s) that plots “Size of Valerie Bertinelli’s A**” against “Happiness” can’t be all bad. Enjoy!

SCOTT adds: We cited Taibbi’s equally wild/worthy 2005 column on Friedman in “Thomas Friedman is flattened.” John’s heading to the contrary notwithstanding, I’m not sure that Taibbi’s blows to Friedman have even wounded his pride.
