A minority report from the West Bank and Gaza

Khaled Abu Toameh is the outstanding Jerusalem Post reporter who specializes in the West Bank and Gaza. He began his career at one of Yasser Arafat’s newspapers. I met him through the efforts of Fern Oppenheim on my trip to Israel as a guest of America’s Voices in Israel. Everything Toameh had to say to our group was incredibly interesting, but off the record.

Michael Totten met Toameh a few weeks ago on his trip to Israel sponsored by the American Jewish Committee. Toameh spoke on the record with Totten’s group and Totten has posted a transcript of Toameh’s remarks here. They are worth reading in their entirety. Hudson New York has coincidentally posted Toameh’s comments on “the Jordan-Egypt option.”
