A barn-burner at the dome

I’m working late tonight and thus cannot watch the one-game playoff between the Detroit Tigers and the Minnesota Twins. I’m checking in on the contest from time to time, however, and it looks like a classic.
The Tigers jumped out to a 3-0 lead early on, but the Twins rallied to take a 4-3 lead in the seventh inning. Detroit promptly tied things up in the top of the eighth and now the game is heading into extra innings.
If you’re a baseball fan and you’re not watching, you might want to catch the end of this one.
If the game had been played 50 years ago, I’d probably write a blow-by-blow account.
UPDATE: It took 12 innings, but the Twins did it, capping their amazing late season run by defeating the Tigers 6-5. The Twins had to come from behind in extra innings, as they did earlier in the contest, tying the game in the bottom of the 10th before winning it in the bottom of the 12th. The Twins thus avoided, just barely, the ignominy of having lost back-to-back post-season tiebreakers.
As a result, they have earned the right, about 18 hours from now, to take on the mighty New York Yankees in the playoffs.
