The Daily Ditch, part 325

Charles Krauthammer responds to a recent attack on him by Andrew Sullivan. Krauthammer demonstrates with clinical precision that Sullivan “leap[s] from nonexistent fact to blanket ad hominem without even a pause for a reality check.” I wish only that Krauthammer had brought his psychiatric training to the discussion.
The phenomenon Krauthammer describes is not a glitch. It is a recurring feature of Sullivan’s work. We have found Sullivan performing similar acts of invention and/or defamation in a series of posts including “The Daily Ditch” (July 2006), “Norman Podhoretz crosses the Daily Ditch” (November 2007), and “What about the Daily Ditch?” (September 2008).
Shakespeare’s Falstaff claimed not only to be witty, but also the cause of wit in others. By the same token, Sullivan is not only obtuse, but also the cause of obtuseness in others, as we demonstrated at some length in “Obama veers into the Daily Ditch” (May 2009).

UPDATE: Sullivan has confessed error and apologized.
