A Plague On ‘t

A group of scientists claim that the Biblical plagues that helped to free the Israelites from Egypt can be explained by known natural phenomena of the time, beginning with — count on it — global warming:

The Biblical plagues that devastated Ancient Egypt in the Old Testament were the result of global warming and a volcanic eruption, scientists have claimed.
[R]ather than explaining them as the wrathful act of a vengeful God, the scientists claim the plagues can be attributed to a chain of natural phenomena triggered by changes in the climate and environmental disasters that happened hundreds of miles away.

Maybe Al Gore can work the first-born bit into his next movie.
Meanwhile, in church this morning (I’m a mainstream Lutheran), one of our ministers prayed for “the health of our ecosystem.” It makes sense that churches should be turning their attention to the environment, now that sin is no longer a problem.
