“I was told there wouldn’t be any math” is a familiar reporters’ lament–although, as we’ve seen over the years, reporters at the New York Times don’t do well at history, science or literature, either. But today’s correction relates to math; geometry, specifically:
An article on Wednesday about Tiger Woods’s golfing struggles heading into the P.G.A. Championship described incorrectly his change of heart about playing on the United States Ryder Cup team. His new willingness to be a captain’s pick for the team represents a 180-degree turn, not a 360-degree turn.
I’m eagerly awaiting the paper’s advice on what we should do about our trillion-dollar-plus deficit.
