The next Delaware conundrum

Jim Geraghty wonders what the prospects for Republican party unity will be in Delaware after tonight’s primary. He writes:

The question is, can Delaware Republicans who have invested so much time and passion into this primary fight rise above it? Do they think that stopping Chris Coons is important enough to start laboring to help a candidate they probably can’t stand at this moment?

The answer to both questions, as I think Geraghty suggests, is “not likely.”
So if O’Donnell wins, an extraordinary difficult, against-the-odds race probably becomes a virtually impossible one. And if Castle wins, a fairly easy race probably becomes a fairly difficult one.
