Today’s Senate polls

Newly released polls of Senate races bring mixed but mostly good news for Republicans:

Alaska: Miller 43, Murkowski 27, McAdams 25 (Rasmussen)
Ohio: Portman 49, Fisher 36 (Fox)
Pennsylvania: Toomey 48, Sestak 40 (Fox)
Nevada: Angle 46, Reid 45 (Fox)
California: Boxer 47, Fiorina 46 (Fox)
New York: Gillibrand 49, Dio Guardi 39 (Rasmussen)
Delaware: Coons 54, O’Donnell 39 (Fox)

I view the Nevada and California polls as reasonably favorable because I suspect that if these races are close now, Angle and Fiorina have decent shots at pulling away, as Portman has. On the other hand, if the actual vote is close, the Dems might steal it, especially in Nevada.
It would be great to see closer poll results from New York and Delaware, but today’s reports from these blue states don’t surprise me. I’m hoping that O’Donnell has bottomed out at -15 and can begin to climb closer. But this depends on the absence of new adverse revelations about her past.
UPDATE: And, saving the best news for last, I now learn (via Jim Geraghty) that in West Virginia, Republican John Raese leads the state’s Democratic governor Joe Manchin 46-43, according to a PPP poll. Yesterday, Rasmussen had Machin up by 7 points, so it’s not clear where the race really stands right now. But Robert Byrd’s old seat seems pretty clearly to be in play.
ONE MORE FOR GOOD LUCK: Also from PPP, in Wisconsin Russ Feingold trails his Republican challenger Ron Johnson by 11 points, 52-41. Markos Moulitsas, who commissioned the poll, tweeted about this one yesterday, so I knew it was coming.
If we see another poll showing anything like this margin, I think we can move the Wisconsin race out of the “toss-up” column.
