A reader and friend writes:
I do have this Back to the Future vision about California and New York. I remember the headline in the New York Daily News in the 1970’s when New York City (not the state) begged for a bailout . The bailout never happened and the headline read something like FORD TO CITY: DROP DEAD.
Can’t you see the same thing looming when California and perhaps New York State beg for the same now? And this time it will go the same way. And it will be deserved. All that entitled liberalism bankrupted New York City in the 1970’s and here we are again.
