The most dramatic baseball game ever played to be aired tonight

Tonight the MLB network will air Game Seven of the 1960 World Series. It’s the first time the game will be seen since October 13, 1960, the day it was played. As I understand it, a film of the game was uncovered recently in the wine cellar of then-Pirate part-owner Bing Crosby (1960 was a very good year). Crosby couldn’t make it to Game 7 because he was out of the country (in some accounts he did not attend out of superstition). So he had someone film the television broadcast.

I wrote about this game in five parts (did I really?). See Part One, Part Two, Part Three, Part Four, and Part Five.
