Worst Week in Washington revisited

This past Friday the Washington Post’s Chris Cillizza named House Speaker John Boehner the winner of his Worst Week in Washington contest. Cillizza makes the award weekly to honor the inhabitants of Planet Beltway.

I urge readers to review Molly Hooper’s account in The Hill today of the debt-deal negotiations last week. John Boehner emerges as the man of the hour, displaying grace under pressure that carried the day. Based on Hooper’s reporting, I think Cillizza should rescind last week’s award and give it to himself if not to one of Boehner’s Democratic interlocutors.
