Suzymania: Two tix to first caller (We have a winner)

When I learned that country star Suzy Bogguss would be performing at the State Theatre in beautiful downtown Zumbrota, Minnesota, this coming Friday evening, I immediately bought tickets. Zumbrota is only 50 miles south of the Twin Cities, the drive is pleasant, and Suzy is touring in support of The American Folk Songbook, her new recording. When Suzy previewed “Shenandoah” and a couple of other songs from the recording in Minneapolis at the Dakota Jazz Club and Restaurant earlier this year, you could hear a pin drop in the room. (GAC has posted a good review here.)

Unfortuntely, my enthusiasm got the beter of me. I had overlooked the fact that the high holiday of Yom Kippur begins at sundown on Friday and I can’t skip services. Rosh Hashanah, maybe, but not Yom Kippur. (God, I’m just kidding!)

I have two free tickets to offer to the first reader who writes asking for them at [email protected] with “Suzy tix” in the subject heading. I ask only that you promise to attend the show and drop us a note reporting on it afterwards.

If you are interested in the show and miss the ticket offer, I would like you to know that tickets are still available for $25 and can be purchased by calling Crossings Gallery and Gift Shop at (507) 732-7616. The State Theatre is an intimate venue and the show should be great.

UPDATE: We have a winner. I hope to be able to follow up with our reader’s on the scene report over the weekend.
