That’s right: hunting.
You are 25 times as likely to be injured cheerleading as hunting. Now, to be fair, I assume your hunting injury is likely to be worse. But I grew up in South Dakota, where most people hunt and children are raised to do so safely, so I don’t find these numbers especially surprising. I recently bought my first gun, a sort of early Christmas present. It is a handgun rather than a hunting firearm. Still, I take comfort from the fact that when I go shooting, I will be way safer than if I were golfing. Or cheerleading.
