One more thing to be pleased about

John Fund reports from the annual gathering of “Netroots Nation,” where “there was clearly a cloud hanging over attendees.” It seems that the assembled bloggers and activists are disappointed that Obama has declined to push important aspects of their left-wing agenda.

Perhaps this crew should rename itself Naive Nation.

For the first time since President Obama’s election, administration officials were not invited to attend the conference. Van Jones, the ultra-leftist who used to be part of the Obama administration, was on hand. He told the group, ““Let’s be honest now; we’re all friends here.” At that point, referring to the fact that Obama went missing during the Wisconsin recall battle, someone in the audience shouted, “Where was Obama?”

The Daily Beast asked Daily Kos founder Markos Moulitsas if he was worried about the level of despair at the conference. He repled: “The administration should be worried about the level of despair here.”

I hope so. But “the administration” would be more worried if Obama had followed his heart instead of his head, and oriented his policy in accordance with the desires of the out-of-touch leftists who make up Netroots Nation.
