Video Editors Wanted

If you follow our “Picks” closely–if you don’t, you should–you may have noticed that we occasionally link to Videotruffle, a fun new site that features video clips in a number of categories, some of which are political. Videotruffle is run by friends of ours, and they asked us to put out a call for contributors:

URGENT: HELP WANTED

We’re looking for a few good men and women to scour YouTube and the television dial each day to find breaking news video in connection with the presidential election. Think of it as a newswire–but instead of black and white text, we want to illustrate the election through living, moving video. We’ll provide contributors with a way to post breaking news by extracting video from any TV channel, including MSNBC, CNN, and Fox. Everything from gaffes (“you didn’t build that”) to those little moments when MSM anchors let the veil of neutrality slip. These are the things we want to capture.

Can you stay on top of breaking news? Do you post the freshest viral video to your Twitter account before everyone else has seen it? Are you an expert and avid YouTuber? Email [email protected] and let us know if you’d like to help.

And don’t forget C-Span, a treasure trove of largely unviewed video.
