According to a poll that Susquehanna Polling and Research provided The Washington Examiner, Mitt Romney leads President Obama in Pennsylvania by 49 percent to 45 percent. The poll was taken in the days just before the second presidential debate.
A Quinnipiac poll taken during the same period has Obama leading Romney in Pennsylvania by the same 4 point margin — 50-46. So I’m not going to conclude that Romney is leading in the Keystone state. But at least I see the merit in Real Clear Politics’ evaluation of the presidential race in Pennsylvania as a toss up.
Meanwhile, the word from PPP is that its new Iowa poll “is going to be a whole lot better for Romney than the NBC one tonight.” The NBC/WSJ/Marist poll has Obama ahead by 8 points. But this result already is an outlier. Obama is ahead by only 3 points in a WeAskAmerica poll taken during the same period, and ARG had the race tied in a poll taken a few days earlier. It sounds like PPP’s poll will, at a minimum, be in line with the results from WeAskAmerica and ARG.
