Can Hillary Clinton’s ambitions survive Pat Smith?

Like John, I’ve wondered whether Hillary Clinton’s presidential aspirations will be derailed by Benghazi. Like John, I’m skeptical that they will be.

But if they aren’t, it won’t be due to lack of effort by Pat Smith, the mother of Sean Smith who was killed during the attack on our Benghazi facilities. In a Fox News appearance, Smith accused Clinton of “lying to my face” by telling her that the attack was the result of a YouTube video and that she would contact her about the matter with answers. Smith also insisted that Clinton did not do enough to protect American personnel during the attacks.

Smith declared: “I want the whole world to know it: she lied to my face, and you don’t want this person to be president.”

Clearly, the Benghazi matter won’t go away insofar as Hillary Clinton is concerned. This doesn’t mean it will derail Clinton, but she should be worried that it might.

Here is Pat Smith wishing Hillary a Happy Mother’s day on Mike Huckabee’s program:
