Shutdown? What Shutdown?

With 58% of voters now viewing Obamacare unfavorably, Congressional Democrats have panicked. Which is why President Obama announced his hasty “fix” that will allow 2013 individual and small group policies to be extended through 2014, even if they are illegal under the Affordable Care Act. (In Obama’s view, taking care that the laws be faithfully executed is strictly optional.) It appears that Congressional Democrats are right to panic, as anger over Obamacare has erased the deficit the GOP found itself in after the government shutdown. Scott Rasmussen has the numbers:

Republicans have rebounded from a seven-point deficit a month ago to take a one-point lead on the latest Generic Congressional Ballot for the week ending November 17.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey shows that 40% of Likely U.S. Voters would vote for the Republican in their district’s congressional race if the election were held today, while 39% would choose the Democrat instead.

With the baleful effects of Obamacare just beginning to be felt, those numbers are likely to worsen for the Democrats.
