Queen Seeb approximately

The refrain in Bob Dylan’s “Queen Jane Approximately” goes: “Won’t you come see me, Queen Jane?” Queen Jane is the answer to a variety of bad scenes:

Now when all the clowns that you have commissioned
Have died in battle or in vain
And you’re sick of all this repetition…

Refrain:

Won’t you come see me, Queen Jane?

I think “Queen Jane” was probably inhalable. “Queen Jane Approximately” might have been the theme song of President Obama’s high school Choom Gang.

Obama was of course an active member of the gang. David Maraniss writes in his biography of Obama: “As a member of the Chooom Gang, Barry Obama was known for starting a few pot-smoking trends.” He saw a lot of Queen Jane.

Queen Seeb — HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius — not so much. Having reviewed the relevant records, Peter Schweizer reports that in the three and a half years leading up to the launch of of Healthcare.gov from the passage of Obamacare in 2010, Obama never sang “Won’t you come see me, Queen Seeb?” He didn’t have a single one-on-one meeting with Sebelius. Wynton Hall reports here on the study, which is posted here.

Now that’s kind of funny. What if they had met? Queen Seeb would have reported to Obama that everything was going beautifully. Given what Obama was saying up to the time of the rollout, it’s as if they had met.
