“The suspect’s wound is consistent with putting a gun in his pants”

Talk about a candidate for a Darwin Award (from the Colorado Daily):

An apparent robbery attempt between neighbors in downtown Portland resulted in one suspect with a gunshot wound to his leg, and the other suspect with a self-inflicted gunshot would to his testicles, police said Wednesday.

During the dispute, the 40-year-old man pulled out a gun and shot the other man in his leg, police spokesman Sgt. Pete Simpson said. The wounded 32-year-old man ran over yo the Safeway for help and was later taken to the hospital with a leg injury.

As the 40-year-old suspect fled the scene, he accidentally shot himself in the groin, police said.

“The suspect’s wound is consistent with somebody putting a gun in his pants,” Simpson said Wednesday night.

It’s a wonder either of these “suspects” made it to age 25.
