The Obama file

From the first days of his administration, President Obama has sought to befriend our enemies and betray our allies. Those of us who understood Obama as a member of the leftover left with friends in all the likely places have not been surprised. How could we find Obama taking in the Reverend Jeremiah Wright over all those years and not get a clue? As we see in his yammering to the apostle Thomas late last week, Obama is unrelenting in his views. The phenomenon is remarkable. It should not go without saying.

David Horowitz is a former member of the radical left who has long since gone into opposition. He issues a dispirited clarion call in the NRO column “Obama’s treachery and American silence.” David assesses the course of recent events to add to his longstanding indictment of Obama, and he doesn’t even get around to Iran.

He does get around to Benghazi, however, finding Obama’s behavior in the aftermath of the murder of our men in Benghazi to be “the most shameful individual act by a president in the history of the White House.” For more on Benghazi, see sundance’s post “The Benghazi brief.”

Ron Radosh is a former Communist who has moved on to become a serious historian and critic of the American left in several books including The Rosenberg File (written with Joyce Milton), his account of the Rosenberg spy case, and his memoir Commies: A Journey Through the Old Left, the New Left and the Leftover Left. In his PJ Media column “The American left: Friends of our country’s enemies,” Ron assesses Obama’s friends/critics on the leftover left in the context of current events. Even if they find Obama wanting, Obama’s heart is with them.
