Meet the Huffington Post’s new security “fellow”

He’s Donté Stallworth, a former NFL wide-receiver. Stallworth had a few productive years in professional football, but missed all of the 2009 season due to a suspension resulting from pleading guilty to DUI manslaughter, a felony. Stallworth killed a 59 year-old Florida man while driving drunk.

Ryan Grim, the Huffington Post’s Washington Bureau Chief, gushed that Stallworth “has a quick mind, an insatiable curiosity and a passion for politics — the necessary qualities of a great journalist.”

Applied to national security, his new beat, Stallworth’s “quick mind” produced the following tweet in 2009:

NO WAY 9/11 was carried out by “dying” Bin Laden, 19 men who couldn’t fly a damn kite. STILL have NO EVIDENCE Osama was connected, like Iraq.

More recently, Stallworth has acknowledged that we are being terrorized by people who hate us. He’s now on a quest to figure out why they hate us. This novel question must be part of what Grim had in mind when he spoke of Stallworth’s “insatiable curiosity.”

Stallworth has concluded that it “can’t be” because of our freedoms that we are being attacked. When he figures out the true cause (maybe it’s a video), Huffington Post readers will be the first to know. For the time being they will have to be content with nuggets of wisdom such as “when there are hostilities between nations there’s always two sides.”

Grim is insane if he views Stallworth as a “great journalist” in the making. However, the ex-footballer should fit in just fine at the Huffington Post.
