Hillary Looking for Cover Over Planned Parenthood? [With Observation by John]

Of course Hillary Clinton hedges over everything—did you see her dodge when asked about the Keystone XL pipeline? Even the Washington Post’s Chris Cillizza called it “ridiculous.”

I wonder what Cillizza makes of her comment this morning about the Planned Parenthood videos? While Hillary professed that she’s unalterably pro-choice and plans to “stand with Planned Parenthood,” there was the telltale hedging, as though she wants to leave room to run for the tall grass if subsequent videos are, as they may well turn out to be, even more indefensible. Here’s ABC News’s report:

Hillary Clinton has staunchly defended Planned Parenthood in the wake of recently released videos that an anti-abortion group claims to show employees with the organization discussing the sale of aborted fetal tissue.

But, in a new interview, she calls the graphic videos “disturbing” and says there should be a national investigation into that practice.

“I have seen pictures from them and obviously find them disturbing,” the Democratic presidential candidate told the New Hampshire Union Leader on Tuesday in regards to the videos, which were released by the anti-abortion group Center for Medical Progress. “Planned Parenthood is answering questions and will continue to answer questions.”

Clinton added that if there’s going to be a congressional inquiry into the videos, “it should look at everything,” and not just one organization.

Talk about a modified limited hangout. What’s “disturbing” is the new threat it poses to her candidacy.

JOHN adds: Hillary can’t be honest even for a moment, even as she executes a modified limited hangout. She says “I have seen pictures from them”–the Planned Parenthood videos–“and obviously find them disturbing.” ABC News plays along by referring to the videos as “graphic.”

But only the third video, the one that just came out yesterday, the same day when Hillary gave her interview–had she actually seen it?–is graphic, in that it shows aborted babies and their body parts. There are no “pictures” to be seen from the first two videos. What makes them disturbing is that they show PP officials lunching. They drink wine, they crack jokes, they talk about general business matters and vacations, and all the while they are negotiating the sale of baby parts. It isn’t “pictures” that are disturbing in these videos, it is the business being conducted by Planned Parenthood. Hillary has no intention of engaging with the real issues raised by the Center for Medical Progress.
