The Fiorina factor

Carly Fiorina had a great afternoon sparring in the Republican undercard yesterday. This was no accident; her performance fairly represented what she brings to the race. See, for example, Jay Nordlinger’s NR profile “Carly the communicator.”

As if her performance in the undercard event weren’t enough yesterday, Carly topped it off in a close encounter of the Chris Matthews kind on MSNBC (below). Ms. Fiorina has a contribution to make. She puts me in mind of Lincoln’s defense of Grant after Shiloh: “I can’t spare this man; he fights.”
