The Iran Deal In Perspective

That is the title of this cartoon by Michael Ramirez. I hope it doesn’t come to this, and I really don’t think it will. But it might, which is why I have been a vociferous opponent of Obama’s Iran giveaway.

During our podcast tonight, we talked about the grotesque misdirection of Barack Obama, the New York Times and others on the Left who insinuate that opposition to the Iran deal is all about protecting Israel. No: it is about the security of the United States. We, after all, are the Great Satan, and Iran’s ICBM program is designed to deliver nuclear warheads to American cities.

So it is a really poor idea to give the mullahs a $100 billion signing bonus, allow them to continue researching nuclear bombs and ICBMs with our blessing, authorize their ongoing enrichment of uranium, and agree to protect their nuclear weapons program against sabotage by other nations–the Israelis, presumably–when what we really need is a new regime in Iran. I don’t understand why anyone who is concerned about the security of the United States would make such a deal.

All that said, I hope it won’t lead to what Ramirez envisions:
