But at 4:30 pm this afternoon I’ll be on a fine panel with Jeremy Rabkin, Hadley Arkes, James Ceaser, and Will Morrisey, talking about Harry Jaffa and Walter Berns—in particular what should be made of their famous feud. Rabkin and I have promised to lace up the boxing gloves. It will be held in the Hilton Union Square Hotel in Continental Ballroom 6. You don’t need to be registered for the APSA to attend; it’s sponsored by the Claremont Institute, which welcomes the public, and which has gone to the trouble of getting City Hall to declare San Francisco a “sanctuary city” for conservatives this weekend. The biggest problem is parking. Drop by if you’re bored, or want to see the freak show that is academic political science today.
P.S. Spent a good deal of time yesterday chatting with John Yoo in the lobby of the Hilton, to the consternation of people walking by. I spotted in the program the following paper being presented tomorrow morning: “Barack Obama and the Use of Military Force—John Yoo by Another Name?” Neat to see how Yoo lives rent-free in the heads of the Left.
