One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, Educayshun edition

The precocious Australian comedian Neel Kolhatkar wrote, produced, directed, and starred in the updated edition of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest that arrives just in time to explain the doings at Yale, Missouri, at other institutions of higher learning where liberal educators hold sway (video below). Or should that be educaytors? Kolhatkar calls this Modern Educayshun.

The spelling harks back to the old Our Gang series, which included the Academy Award-winning Bored of Education. That could have been a forerunner, but I’m going with Cuckoo’s Nest, for which Ken Kesey drew in part on his experience dropping acid while working in a mental institution. In Modern Educayshun Kolhatkar plays the Everyman character who went under the name Randall McMurphy in Kesey’s novel and was played by Jack Nicholson in the film. I only want to add that the young lady who plays Penelope in the Kolhatkar video nails it.

This is too close to the bone to be funny, but it nicely captures our current dystopian reality.
