Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to all! Australia is one of the first places to ring in the new year, and my oldest daughter took this picture in Melbourne:

I am tempted to say, good riddance to 2015, which was an awful year in many ways. Still, as so often happens, regardless of the broader trends it was a great year for me and my family. I hope it was for you, too.

Today was a bittersweet day for me, as I retired after 41 years of practicing law–not only that, 41 years with the same firm. Scott was kind enough to report on my retirement party here. Happily, I won’t be idle. I start a new job Monday morning. My new role will be of interest to Power Line readers, I think; I will say more about it at the end of the weekend.
